Description
This is my first attempt at pixel art. Originally 30x30 px, scaled up to 690x690px, all done in GIMP. Multiple layers were used and then merged together when finished. 1px Pencil was used for all of the art, and 5px smudge tool was used to create lighting. This is pixel art of a monster in Solitary Confinement, trapped behind a wood barred and bolted iron door (with reinforced Iron Padlocks), in a room with a brick wall, blood & bone covered floor, one unlit & burned-out torch, a lit torch and claw scratch marks everywhere. What do you think?

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactWow, I doubt I'd have the concentration to do something as detailed as that! I think your mastery of GIMP really shows here, which I for one definitely find impressive, because it's not very user friendly at all and you still managed to use it as well as something like photoshop. The colours are really interesting, the lighting is as detailed as possible for pixel art, haha. I can actually tell what things are, which is always a good sign, especially in pixel art where everything is very LARGE looking. The bones look like bones, the torch looks like a torch... And the background has a bery interesting effect, rather than just being all one colour.
I think the only improvement you could possibly make is the fact that the torch is above his head, and yet there's no light on his head. Besides that, the colours are great and very complimentary, the blood and bones are accurately coloured, the sprite looks really REALLY cool.
